DuraBarrier |
 |
In today’s world, safety and safety in
general is a major concern of Governments, Companies and
Individuals alike. A DuraBarrier can be used to protect people
and property.
Although the primary reason for the
DuraBarrier development was transformer separations many
customers have noted other uses. Many customers due to the
DuraBarrier’s fire and blast protection have used it in other
applications.
DuraSteel is the main fire resistant
component of the barrier and the DuraBarrier can be used for
most fire, hydrocarbon fire and blast protection purposes. These
would include the following:
Electrical equipment isolation other than transformers
Generator separations
Multiple or redundant equipment separations
Natural gas equipment protection
LNG equipment and plant protection
Propane tank protection
Oil and gas pipeline protection
Dust collector system separations
High pressure gas bottle storage
Other hydrocarbon fire and blast separations
An area of focus for DuraSystems will be
Homeland Security. In 2003
the President of the United States approved the National
Strategy for Home Land Security. This vital strategy included
protection of the following types of facilities where the
DuraBarrier could be used:
Public water systems serving large populations
Chemical facilities
Major power generation facilities
Hydroelectric facilities
Nuclear power plants
Electrical substations
Major natural gas transmission pipelines
Natural gas and LNG facilities
Major petroleum handling facilities
The DuraBarrier is a modular pre-engineered
barrier system. DuraBarrier pre-engineered systems are
available to meet the following conditions:
Tested to 6 hours of fire protection
Interior and exterior installations
Seismic Resistant
Galvanized, stainless steel and epoxy finishes
Noise reduction
Wind conditions up to and including category 5 (42.1 psf)
hurricanes
Pre-designed barrier heights up to 35 feet
Barriers can be supplied at any height required
Barrier widths are unlimited
Available with both 90 degree and T joint connections
Available for both continuous and pier foundation methods
If requirements for a
DuraBarrier are not met by the above standard conditions,
DuraSystems will provide a custom engineered solution to meet
our customer’s needs.
With the benefit of modular
construction, the DuraBarrier offers fast and safe original
installations. It also allows for the future disassembly and
reassembly for maintenance or replacement of the equipment
protected. This benefit ensures downtime and interruptions are
kept to an absolute minimum.
The above options should
provide the selection and flexibility to meet virtually all
possible transformer applications and its modular design and
bolted on site connections make it quick and easy to install.

The
DuraBarrier
DuraSystems recently launched a new pre-engineered
modular barrier, designed to protect people and
property. DuraBarrier has been recognized by FM Global
as an exterior transformer separation and will help
prevent the spread of fire.

Fire, Blast, Moisture &
Impact Resistant

Each DuraBarrier is constructed to be completely pre
engineered, modular and assembled in the field by way of
fasteners. Our DuraBarrier module is Fire, Blast,
Moisture, and Impact resistant. |
